With these documents of identification prescriptions are to be signed and worked on in the future. The introduction is planned for 2006/2007.
The smart card-based medical identity card is equipped with a qualified digital signature and further certificates, which are for the introduction of the electronic health card of central importance. It makes it for physicians possible to access this patient passport and mark documents. Applications, which are to be gradually carried out with the physician document of identification, are the electronic prescription and the electronic physician letter. In addition the electronic patient document is to be called starting from 2012, for which however also the patients must be equipped with a qualified signature.
