How
to use it
|
The
surgeon
surgically cuts and ties tubes through a small incision under the
umbilicus after childbirth. A laparoscope, an instrument inserted
through a small abdominal incision, is used to burn the tubes or place
clips or silastic rings over the tubes, thus blocking the tubes.
|
Advantages
|
One
time decision.
Safe for general health (after procedure). Does not interfere with
spontaneity.
|
Disadvantages
|
Surgical
procedure
required. Permanent. Less than 1 % of women get rejoining of the tube
ands. A very small percentage of women may have increased pain with
periods after procedure. Only should be chosen by those who are
absolutely sure no children or no more children are wanted.
